Abhishek Tewari, who rose to fame with Rajan Shahi's Chand Chupa Badal Mein, is all set to enter in Balika Vadhu as Maahi. Abhishek Tewari will be playing the character of ShivRaj Shekhar's younger brother Maahi. Maahi is an aspiring cricketer who is crazy about the game. He is loved by the family and his passion for the game of cricket and Mahendra Singh Dhoni gets him the name, 'Mahi'. He is fun-loving and is a Casanova but at the same time, he handles critical situations maturely. The makers are also planning to introduce a new love story. Maahi eventually falls in love with that girl who likes Shiv.

There seems to be a budding writer hiding in the garb of a TV actor Abhishek Tiwari. He is currently in the process of writing a book on human relationships. The book, he admits, is largely based on his life though the characters are fictitious. He explains his reason to become an actor "It was three years back when I thought of writing about the relationships in my life. I had just broken up with my first girlfriend and was passing through a very bad phase. I needed a medium to express all my feelings. Writing turned to be the best bet."
