Akshay Dogra was born on September 21, 1981 in Delhi and brought up in New Delhi with his younger sister, fellow actress Riddhi Dogra.He entered the entertainment business when he was 21 years old.He moved to Mumbai to pursue his career in television industry. He worked as executive producer of the Creative unit behind the screen for many years. He also worked as an assistant to Deepak Tijori.After few years he started to show his face in the television series and acted in 12/24 Karol Bagh and Kiss Kiss Bang in 2008. He also acted in the stage play Apples and Walnut in 2011 which is about the valley of Kashmir. He also has appeared in the Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon television program.
